Onions
There's not too much to report. Things are growing niceley. We stirred up the dirt today to get some air to the roots. The tomato plants were getting a little heavy, so we put in some stakes and string to help hold them up.
We also moved the strawberries to the top of some plaster pillars that we had. It looks very nice.

The Snow peas are growing like crazy!

An the regular peas are doing well

Now that the tomatoes are supported the corn should get more sun.
This is a blossom from the spaghetti squash.

The garden is doing great! One small problem... bugs. We can't get rid of them! We bought lady bugs, but they flew away, so we bought more... and they flew away too! Trust me, there are pleanty of things to eat. It should be a lady bug paradise.

Everything is doing really well.

April 11-14, 2009

so... we've planted corn, green beans, cucumber, spaghetti squash, green peppers, radishes, peas, snow peas, carrots, serrano chilis

We learned that about 90% of the stuff that we planted in the pods is in the compost. They just didn't make it. The best way is to put them right in the ground.

We went to "Star Nursery" for the first time the other day. I don't know why we didn't go there before, it was great!!! Over the past few weeks we had developed quite a bug problem. Following the recommendation of my friend Heidi Buttars, we bought some lady bugs and already there is a noticable difference. We also got some dirt to put a new layer on the compost pile. It's filling up! We also got a few more strawberry plants because they are so pretty and it's fun to actually have something producing food!

At the very back is red onions, then corn, then cucumbers (can't see them) then the tomatoes.

February 7, 2009

We started planting in little pods inside on February 7, 2009. We had them growing in the garage under the grow lights. Radishes came up realy fast and really thick.

We also planted tomatoes, celery, serrano chili, california bell pepper, yellow onion, green onion, spinach, cucumber, lettuce and jalapeno's.

We also purchased 3 strawberry plants, chives, bok choy, tomatoes and Texas sweet onions.
